I have been working at State Street full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Gym subsidy, Educational reimbursement, ability to buy additional leave, increased super including life and TPD insurance that's included.

    Cons

Super bureaucratic, slow moving, no one takes ownership and shifts blame, APAC is left in the cold regarding head count

    Advice to Management

Spend some time identifying talent early on and promoting internally would reduce turn over

I worked at State Street full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good for a couple of years for inexperienced professionals. Potential to transfer to offices overseas. Lots of learning opportunities. All

    Cons

Long hours, low pay, very stressful, only a select few get rewarded and recognized , very political, very hard to get things done as departments don't work effectively with each other, the good employees usually leave , senior ops mgmt.tend to get it wrong more often than not.

    Advice to Management

Reexamine your employer evaluation system as too many employees are focused on "getting their name out there" that the daily BAU gets neglected and overall client service deteriorates.

I worked at State Street full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Large company so possibility of international moves. Good location in cbd. Free fruit on Tuesday's and Thursday's.

    Cons

Ridiculously long hours are the rule and not the exception. Those who are willing to just accept that will get praise, those who refuse to give up their life when State Street says jump will be shunned. Lower pay than most competitors. Terrible middle management with no leadership qualities. Never experienced a lack of communication quite like it after 8 years in the industry. No training. Unbelievable rate of staff... turnover. Severely under resourced. Consistently failing technology. Offshore IT support in different time zones make the simplest of issues drag on for days. Offshore processing means many errors leading to constant apologising to clients.

I worked at State Street full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Can't think of any currently.

    Cons

Worried more about offshoring instead of the current employees who know how to do the job. Too many qualified people leaving or getting laid off.

    Advice to Management

Return work to the talent you have cultivated and grown. Improve training for new employees to help retain them longer.
