    Pros

The technology truly is great. Great people to work with in the lower levels. You'll learn a lot of new skills ...

    Cons

... because you'll be doing three jobs while getting paid for one. The Stratasys/Objet merger was in 2012, but it still feels like two companies fighting. Goals/strategies for the company vary wildly depending on department/manager, and department managers only care about their dept's goals, not those of the overall company. Management is a revolving door, and with every new manager, a division or the whole company must completely shift priorities depending on new person's visions -- lots of frenzied scrambling that only subsides when it's time for a new manager to come on board. Execs keep hiring more VPs and middle managers, not workers -- more people demanding work, fewer people to deliver it. Problematic managers (including, but not limited to, plagiarism, IP theft, inactivity, outright fabrication and habitual lying) are never addressed, but shifted to different departments. Retaliation against workers who advise HR on such behavior. Morale is bad, bad, bad and instead of working to fix systemic problems, management offers tokens like a monthly ice cream day. No work/life balance - global nature of company mean employees are expected to check emails constantly, at night, on weekends and especially on vacations.

I worked at Stratasys full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Technology is fun. "Some" employees are great to work with.

    Cons

Too much management turnover. They don't do their proper diligence in the hiring process which is why turnover is so great. You can be a bad worker, but as long as u know how to kiss ur managers butt, then u are good. Too many newly created positions that only waste money and create confusion of the reporting structure. Rather than going back to the basics of having managers prioritize what they need to do (communicate with people who report to them, and listen to their concerns), they hire more managers to "try" and do this. Ridiculous how much money is wasted on hiring new managers with newly created titles. Employee surveys are skewed. Some employees feel scared to put what they really want to say because of retribution if truth is told. I disagree with some other comments regarding the Israelis. When company was Objet, they made you feel like family, listened to concerns and did something about it. Once merge with stratatsys, all original Objet employees felt like step children and all communication stopped.

    Stratasys Response

    November 13, 2018Human Resources

Thank you for your feedback. We’ve been through some big organizational changes and lost some great people in the transition. That was tough – on everyone – and not something we could address overnight. But training for all new managers is bringing great results in re-strengthening our leadership and renewing our focus. There are more improvements to come. We’re sorry you didn’t feel able to share your views in our employee survey. Honest feedback is crucial to our improvement, so we go to great lengths to make sure you can share your views anonymously – the survey is run by an external agency that removes any potentially identifying information before sharing the results. We have robust action plans in place to address concerns raised. I’m sorry you don’t look back on your time at Stratasys more positively. I wish you well in your career.

I have been working at Stratasys full-time

    Pros

A local company; creator of the industry

    Cons

The Israeli leadership of Objet runs both the US and IL businesses now. They are horrible business people and micro managers of everything. So many hurdles put in place for approvals that our company bills get paid months behind their due dates. Israeli seem to waste cash right and left, while penny pinching anything for the US. I have never seen a constant employee exodus like this before. Crazy. The new CEO will likely change nothing.

I worked at Stratasys full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Stratasys is a great company with a cool technology that has a significant and positive impact to industry, shortening lead-times for product development and providing more options to conventional manufacturing production processes. Employees are genuinely excited about the products and rally around the new product releases and current products. That was prior to 2015...

    Cons

The Stratasys/Objet merger, presented as a marriage of complementary technologies, and the acquisition of MakerBot as the leading player in the consumer market, was intended to cement the Stratasys position as the uncontested market leader in additive manufacturing. The MakerBot acquisition in retrospect was a huge mistake as it was vastly overpriced and over-hyped. The products launched and manufactured were of such poor quality, that it ultimately killed the enthusiasm in the 3D printing/additive manufacturing market. Stratasys will never recover the losses that resulted. In addition, the legacy Objet leadership team has aggressively overtaken leadership of the entire Stratasys organization as if it were an acquisition vs. a merger. One by one, legacy Stratasys leadership personnel were fired or aggressively pushed out of the organization. And at this point, Israelis hold all of the key leadership and management positions in Sales/Marketing, Operations and Engineering. They employ a command and control management style where every single decision, big or small, goes through labyrinth-like approval bureaucracy thus stifling all creativity and risk-taking. The leadership team is arrogant and dismissive of anybody outside of their inner circle. Their decision-making also show a lack of competence and understanding of best-in-class manufacturing management methodologies. And it is now showing up in unfavorable financial results, independent of the current additive manufacturing market conditions. Finally, US operations are being phased out as power is being consolidated in Israel/Objet. Current US employees are pursuing other opportunities and are leaving in droves. So unless Stratasys is acquired or the board agrees that the current strategy will continue to fail, there is no bright future for US based employees. My advice to prospective employees is that if you are currently employed, do not accept employment at Stratasys. If you are not employed and are willing to put up with being treated poorly and are okay knowing that this will be short term, then it could be an opportunity until something better comes along.

I have been working at Stratasys

    Pros

The 3d printing industry has a huge amount of potential and unlimited opportunities. This is a great industry to have an established dealer network/customer base and many years of experience with.

    Cons

Since the Stratasys/Objet merger there has been a lot of change and pain. There are inherent cultural differences between MN and Israel that provide an ongoing handicap to the company. Lack of focus and an ever-changing direction leave employees, resellers, and customers feeling lost. After being in this state for a few years there is a widespread dissatisfaction both internal and external that is further weighing the company down.

    I worked at Stratasys

    Pros

Neat technology Fun co-workers Challenging work assignments which allow for growth and personal development Exciting

    Cons

Leadership has diminished since the merger between Objet and Stratasys. The former Stratasys leadership team is gone and replaced by Objet employes. The workload is unbearable and stressful. It's unfortunate the company took a turn and I hope they come back.

    Pros

    Industry and technology is awesome.

    Cons

Was a Stratasys employee and after the merger with Objet, spent a lot of time teaching internal teams about technology, business processes, learning new processes etc. Having two headquarters was challenging logistically. Lots of travel in a lot of manager positions.
