I have been working at Telstra full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

A good place to learn new skills and technology

    Cons

Some business units still aren't working in an Agile form so it tends to get a bit bureaucratic when dealing with them

    Advice to Management

Remove legacy organizational gridlocks that prevent innovation

I have been working at Telstra full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great Graduate Program - Lots of opportunities to gain exposure across the organisation. The current restructure will create future growth opportunities for graduates.

    Cons

The current restructure has brought some temporary downfalls to many of my colleagues including job satisfaction, employee engagement and retention rates. These changes will be over soon, and I imagine this will lead to great things for the organisation and it's remaining employees (especially graduates).

    Advice to Management

None - it's clear that the current changes (while upsetting for some) were required for the company to grow and prosper.

I worked at Telstra full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Telstra discounts, zing points, nothing else

    Cons

Everything else. Total disconnect between manager and general manager. General manager encourages direct manager to not get too friendly with their staff as they will need to get rid of their staff. So Monday morning asking how your weekend was, that's a taboo

    Advice to Management

Fix this working culture. Manager and gm needs to know all their staff, they are not just numbers!!!

I worked at Telstra full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

great lovely people to work with, excellent training, used to be kept up to date with changes in the business on a regular basis but not so much anymore.

    Cons

Call centre at Docklands is practically non existent now. Used to be 500 plus strong now it is like 'what call centre??'. Management not in the know with what is going on, constant restructuring, drop in share prices. Upper management seem positive about the future and say this is temporary yet making great staff redundant in order to please share holders...even though employees are also share holders....hmmm. Company...

    Advice to Management

Stop making all your good staff redundant. I am sure there are better ways to raise the share prices.

    No Opinion of CEO

I have been working at Telstra full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Work life, salary, benefits, locations.

    Cons

Takes for ever to get simple tasks done due to bureaucracy, complicated procedures, and too empires. Far too much wastage and lack of ownership and dead wood. Management have no idea!

    Advice to Management

Get your act together - don't just talk about it!
