I have been working at Thales full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Lots of people with breadth of knowledge you can tap into -Very multicultural with still a french flavour -Lots of non-salary benefits including 14 weeks parental leave, novated lease, free private health insurance, discounts on certain hotels, airlines, car rental, public transport (Melbourne) -Lots of nice people to work with -Flexible work hours

    Cons

-The French and Australian/Anglo-Saxon working culture can sometime collide and create misunderstanding/miscommunication -Pay is usually average but non-salary benefits are excellent

I have been working at Thales full-time for more than a year

    Pros

New office for out at World Trade Center ATM Business Coffee machine Colleagues at worker level. Leadership is good at making promises and presenting BS. your manager is the determining factor. Most lack leadership ability, technical expertise, integrity, general ability to interact. excrement flows down hill. Paid to look for other work.

    Cons

Fear culture No leadership HR is negligent/ evil in Carnet springs to mind. Senior management negligent, not interested, if they are involved they won’t add any value, just block or fail to make a decision. Nothing real here. French vs UK, Ausie’s are can fodder/Punching bags Early starts late finishes (that’s what they mean by flexible working. I’ll be surprised if this business actually delivers a functioning product. No real focus on people or the product.

I worked at Thales full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The employees are very friendly and nice

    Cons

The management (mainly the French) and HR are horrible (understatement), very disconnected, the work atmosphere is bad, looking to put the blame on everyone, old fashion, not willing to improve processes within the organisation, it seams like the company is divided into 2 (employees from France and Australia)

I have been working at Thales full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Global company with export focus so plenty of foreign travel/interaction

    Cons

French run and very French. You can only go so far before someone French interferes. They have a thousand questions but no answers. Will never take ownership, just trying to lay the blame train if it goes wrong (but if succeeds, then they will take full credit).

I worked at Thales full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Health Benefits, free water and the occasional free cake.

    Cons

-I left a perfectly good paying job to work at Thales. That was a huge mistake and now I'm paying for this bad decision since last year. -The employees in NJ office were the worst. More than half the people on the office side are nothing more than high school graduates. They are more or less lifers where the most difficult thing that they will accomplish is in using power-point. -There is no real HR either in Piscataway, its out sourced to another company. -The French imports get taken care of really well. Its all about them and their careers. -Women don't have career paths, they are more focusing how the men can get ahead. -Eating in the Piscataway office for the Executive meetings takes priority over anything else. While they will lecture you to death about cost cutting, they will spend over 1K a day on catered food for every meeting. -Only people with a title there get a work from home day, everyone else has to show up. -Stay away from this crap hole. Its a waste of time and then you will have to look for another job.

I have been working at Thales full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Lots of PTO and if you have no ambition or desire to move up, you can easily get by.

    Cons

Extremely political with lack of leadership. Leadership in the US are selectively chosen so they do the bidding of the French overlords. People get promoting only by sucking up and responding only “yes” back to leadership without having an opinion. If your protected by a French overlord, you can essentially just not show up to work and do as you please. Of course get promoted when undeserved as well.

I worked at Thales full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good co-workers to work with. Good amount of PTO.

    Cons

Bad management. Upper management does not know what the teams are working on. Expects teams to educate them so they can provide status up the chain. Good workers are laid off as they have no idea who does the work until they are gone. Workers are leaving as there is no future here. Work is being outsourced to India and next generation products being worked in France. During last layoff, the French workers are protected so no job security.

I worked at Thales full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Good benefits (401k & PTO)

    Cons

Management has no long term plan. There is no advantage over competition hence no new sales and no work. Always trying to catch up to competition. French favoritisms Currently in “survival mode”. Lots of lay-offs and restructuring
