I have been working at The Hershey Company full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great culture, great people, lots of opportunities.

    Cons

Due to the nature of the business, a lot of job opportunities require relocation. The company does a good job of accommodating where they can though.

I have been working at The Hershey Company full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are several great people who work at Hershey - but be careful who you can trust. Competitive pay. I don't "hate" working at Hershey, but I definitely would not recommend a friend to work here.

    Cons

Hershey does not treat their employees well. Very much an "up or out" mentality with a forced ranking. When the company has not been doing well in meeting company goals and metrics - you will see lower level management blamed and people are often forced out. The Hershey culture is nice and personable to your face, but managers and employees talk about others behind their backs. I have been in meetings where it is very evident that people are being talked about poorly. The retail team fosters an environment of "throwing others under the bus" and they are asked to identify the worst person that they work with. Hershey likes to keep up the appearance that they have great values and support families and "deliver smiles" - but the corporate culture does not promote work life balance. I have spoken with many collegues at Hershey who say they are depressed, work until midnight on a daily basis, and are unhappy with their work situation. Management often says one thing and then contradicts their direct within a few months. The upper level managers have not set clear direction for the company.
