Does not deliver on value proposition, as too many in the organisation hide behind internal process, as opposed to driving an excellent customer experience. There is little work/life balance.

- A lot of staff inclusion initiatives including Family Day, Green Team etc. - One stop shop for the science industry, have a large range of products. - Great training platform for your next role in Sales

- High push for sales visits, which add no value to the customer - Absolutely no care for work/life balance - Poor pay rates - Expectation to do large amounts of work outside of work hours - Delays in responses from senior product teams - Large local IT team, which still takes weeks for a response - Customers sales drop, will always be the salespersons fault (regardless of the customer having issues like site closures etc) - No understanding if you do less than your required call rate, even if you are off on leave or have other requirements that week.

A great team of co workers and my immediate manager was also very good. Excellent product range with lots of credibility in the market. Salary was reasonable and if you are lucky enough to have a performing product range then the bonuses can also be reasonable. Good work life balance and a supportive team.

Cons

Lots of pressure to perform. As in many sales roles you have both financial budgets to hit but also "face to face" visits as well. F2F visits are standardised across the company and while this is fine for some of the product ranges for other ranges which are complex and require extensive meetings with customers it places a lot of pressure on you. If you are unlucky enough to have a product range with only a few customers there is a little choice other than making unncessary visits, counting everyone you meet, including the guards at the gate as a F2F visit or making visits up. This results in inefficient time management. If you are emplyed to into a sales development role then be very careful with how your budget is established, while bonuses look good on paper some are unobtainable and monthly budgets are poorly planned. Be prepared to work in an open plan office as only the most senior managers have an office. Getting decisions made by management can be a frustrating process as it seems every manager has to be consulted before some even relatively small decisions can be made.
