I worked at Thiess full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Salaries at Thiess were very good. It was quite social in the city. On site, social life would depend on the project. Was very corporate at the end and they worked you pretty hard and you did a lot of overtime, even if the pay was good. A lot of dedicated people who has been there for a long time.

    Cons

Long hours. Was very corporate at the end and they worked you pretty hard and you did a lot of overtime, even if the pay was good.

    Advice to Management

Management were slow to move on issues of harassment or bullying.

I have been working at Thiess full-time

    Pros

Able to change processes when you find improvements. Large enough to move around the company.

    Cons

Most locations will be remote. Can be long hours dependent on culture.

    Advice to Management

Most salaried roles have specific tasks to be completed. Instead of judging people based on hours of work in a chair, judge based on quality.

I worked at Thiess full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great company. Good systems in place. Great people. Diverse projects. Excellent remuneration. High safety standards.

    Cons

High stress levels and long hours. Accountability for poor performance isn't addressed quickly enough due to the fast pace and size of the job placing extra pressure on the high performers to pick up the slack.

    Advice to Management

Going for the cheapest subcontractors places a lot of stress on the site teams as they have to do most of their work for them.
