I have been working at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital part-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

CEO is doing great things for the organization. Minimum wages raised to $15. Nurse wages finally got a significant much-needed bump to become competitive.

    Cons

Needs some organization at mid-level to commit to shared vision. Some other aspects of compensation packages (tuition reimbursement, etc) need to catch up- barely puts a dent in current tuition costs.

I have been working at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital full-time

    Pros

Our new CNO is incredible and is doing amazing things for nursing. There are endless opportunities to be involved.

    Cons

There is no leadership development program for nurses. The focus can sometimes be on the big picture and yet monitors are missing and cords to keep a patient on telemetry.

    Advice to Management

Read the book "No Ego" by Cy Wakeman, focus on your individual relationships with employees.

I worked at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Easy work (accounts), flexible schedule, and not micro-managed.

    Cons

Salary was fair to start, but administrative positions always seemed to get no raises because they are not unionized staff (like a lot of other staff groups in the hospital system).
