I worked at Tickled Media full-time

    Pros

    * some of the people who work in tickled are genuinely good and talented * benefits are ok, they offer healthcare and generally respect holidays * you will learn a lot (because you're forced to, you will be given very few resources so you have to be creative and make magic)

    Cons

    * lack of transparency with staff, you can go to work one morning and find out there and then that youre assigned to a completely new workflow * company is overly focused on numbers to the point that they compromise on ethics * management sets very ambitious goals without giving staff the resources they need to do their jobs properly * lack of work-life balance and no respect for personal time i.e. people will message...

I have been working at Tickled Media full-time for less than a year

    Pros

One of the reasons I joined Tickled was really the flexibility that it is a performance based company and I could work remotely if needed especially being a parent. Also I appreciate the open mindedness of the leadership team to new ideas and processes. This give employees the voice and be more involved instead of being just a passive employee following orders.

    Cons

As the company is present in several markets you deal with regional people and there are cultural differences. But this is something that can be addressed by having a more open communication line among peers. Also since the company is growing fast and there’s much more demand, it’s difficult for shared resources in the region to keep up as well.

    Advice to Management

Not to hastily hire people to fill up roles but really screen candidates thoroughly and to have dedicated people in each country who understand the nuances of the market better.

      Pros

None. Please join at own risk.

      Cons

Ridiculous management style with unfair treatment. Pretty sure that this review is going to get covered up by the fake reviews that higher management is going to task employees to post. Hard work not recognized by higher management. Delayed payments and claims for months.

I worked at Tickled Media full-time

      Pros

You get to meet people from countries like Singapore and Thailand and India, etc. A good primer on the relationships between publishers and agencies.

      Cons

Some useful positions are never hired so most people scramble to multitask. Actually hurting the company.

      Advice to Management

Spend money to get better people. Some people are not too experienced or are outdated.

I have been working at Tickled Media full-time for less than a year

      Pros

One of the best newsrooms An efficiently run media company Inspiring CEO who knows what she is doing Experienced media veteran management team

      Cons

Growing too fast hard to keep up. Sometimes one does not get enough time to do enough due d on any project as they need to start work on another project.

      Advice to Management

I sit in the regional team and get exposure to all the markets, I advice to let go of a number of people from the Singapore team who like to gossip and complain for no good reason. I know management has started to do it, but let them all go at one time and not one by one, as you would want to get rid of the toxic people at one shot

      I worked at Tickled Media

      Pros

Several long-term employees really kept the company going. Hard workers, ignoring politics

      Cons

Talks about being a startup/tech company, rather is an SME with a web page. CEO cares mostly about herself and what people think of her. I didn't see much empathy with the team except for the randomly chosen 'favourite person of the week' and some personal favs.

      Advice to Management

I don't think any advice will help make the CEO a better manager

I have been working at Tickled Media full-time for less than a year

      Pros

If you're good at learning from other's mistakes, you're at the right place. Mistakes and wrong decisions in abundant. It starts from the root of the hierarchy, and stops there. The CEO is hebetudinous doltish and blockheaded at the same time. And everyone else suffers. Most of the team members are really good though. Company survives on that

      Cons

Tried and tested management style. Mgmt has done in past, and doing it year on year. Hire wrong people based on their fancy stints. They ruin the company. Mgmt fires/screws/blames other employees including hard working ones. Mgmt invests in wrong decisions, be it leadership, or product. CEO gets influenced by every word that goes in her ears and makes/changes decisions based on that. It can be very unpredictable and...

      Advice to Management

If you don't know how to run a company, please don't run a company. Don't ruin everyone else's trust, goals and efforts in your thoughtless actions. Let people do something productive that they can be proud of.
