    I worked at Topshop full-time

    Pros

Topshop was great in that we were able to work to fun initiatives with a really fun team!

    Cons

I was a sales assistant but the issue with the company was that we were sent the worst stock- wasn't considered for our city, and any direction came from general managers and not from head office. We made up all our own competitions because we weren't given anything from the higher ups

I worked at Topshop part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice product, opportunities to move upward in the company.

    Cons

Managers fostered an environment of bullying. Everything was about 'making the sale' instead of making customers feel welcomed and comfortable when in store and using our online platforms.

    Advice to Management

Take employee complaints of bullying seriously. Make sure upper management are treating people with respect and kindness.

I worked at Topshop part-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Colleagues who became lifelong friends, fast-paced environment, opportunity to work across multiple departments, quality product

      Cons

Disorganised operational structure, change of management upwards of 5 times in 3 year period, inconsistent casual shift allocation, issues with shifts outside of availability, lack of management support on the shop floor, physically exhausting, lack of training

      Advice to Management

Create consistent training program and improve simple operations such as availability and rosters. Listen to staff feedback and roster in response to busyness.

I worked at Topshop part-time (Less than a year)

      Pros

Staff members were nice and probably the only thing that made working there okay

      Cons

Top levels of management have no idea how to run the company. The UK needs to take over otherwise what is left of Topshop Topman AU won't last.

I worked at Topshop full-time for more than a year

        Pros

40% discount on Topshop products and 15% on concession brands. Attracts cool customers and generally a good vibe. Had some really good fun on shifts and it's always nice to work with fashion. Made some amazing friends as well who literally were the only thing that made it worthwhile working here. Sometimes the managers were relaxed and understanding, but only when they were in a good mood. Sometimes you will win a prize...

        Cons

Management have zero training and therefore can't manage effectively. Full of people that want to move up purely for the money whilst not really having to work too hard or care much at all. Money is basic anyway. They always made everything your fault even if it has nothing to do with you, management and head office would never except any fault onto themselves. Seriously poor communication skills, no one ever had any...

        Advice to Management

If your going to work staff hard, they need proper incentives and minimum wage and the odd $10 gift card doesn't cut it. As a retail store, the vibe should be good above anything else as that's what the customers respond too. Miserable staff = miserable customers. You can't promise or imply promotions and not follow through. Be more professional and take time to train managers. Management is a skill and it's hard and...

        Pros

        - Friendly team - Staff discounts

        Cons

        - HR are rubbish - Higher management are out of the loop with what's actually going on in the rest of the store, they would sit around in the down stairs office chatting and pushing more of their own work on to the Team leads of the store causing them more stress then they needed. - Management also had unrealistic expectations of what they expected off staff - Underpaid for the roles certain staff were in - Staff...
