    I have been working at Town of Cary- NC part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    fun job helping people schedule parties, camps, etc. Flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Physically active job -- no sitting at desk for very long! Job stability is great. Supervisor is great!

    Cons

    Pay is low for amount of skill required. Customers can be pushy/picky but that is true anytime in customer service :).

    Friendly coworkers, snack break Wednesdays.

    Cons

    Not much room for growth for part-timers. Any time a full-time staff member leaves the position is turned into a couple part-time positions.

    Flexible hours Good bosses Able to learn new things

    Cons

    Working part time in the Parks and Recreation department there are few to no opportunities to advance a career. This means a high turnover rate and the loss of knowledge and experience that impacts the ability to provide high-quality support to visitors.
