I have been working at Unilever full-time for less than a year

    Pros

a company that truly values what they preach - brands with purpose grow. Fantastic culture, really flexible working arrangements and trust in people you work with. A lot of ownership and opportunities for junior people too

    Cons

as with any large company, a lot of processes and hierarchy, slow decision making process

I worked at Unilever full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Strong strategic direction, good employee benefits and flexible working arrangements.

    Cons

Vertical matrix in how it operates can be challenging, big focus to reduce headcount/getting additional resource is challenging and can take months. Senior management are typically in roles for 3 years making it difficult as they want short term results take preference over long term sustainable growth.

I worked at Unilever full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Global company, so you can move abroad (but you'll have to make it happen for yourself as not supported by HR). Flexible working conditions... depending on manager

    Cons

    - Non-existent handovers (“sink or swim” policy from day 1) - Little to no recognition of work done - No prioritisation from senior management and stretched resourcing, leading to high employee turnover and burnout for those who stay - Career development heavily dependent on politics rather than merits - Short-term focused management decisions with cost cutting approach - Despite having some “brands with purpose”, purpose not embedded within the organisation

    I worked at Unilever

    Pros

    - a focus on trying to achieve an agile flexible work-life balance - well known brands - breath of international talent

    Cons

    - everyone is overworked - managers take credit for lower executives work and ideas - no view to change broken processes - culture is AGGRESSIVE. Kill or be killed

I have been working at Unilever full-time

    Pros

Shiny new CBD office, flexible working available, free product samples.

    Cons

Salaries well below market, patronising management, impossible to be promoted without networking, job vacancies often take forever to be filled with remaining employees expected to fill gaps without compensation.
