    Negative Outlook

I worked at United Nations full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Some interesting work and people. Had good benefits, but is changing. Can have interesting travel. Can meet interesting people. Sometimes can contribute to improvement of important issues.

    Cons

Very politicized working environment. No accountability for management. Advancement often depends on nationality or other political interests, not professional reasons. Majority of time is spent filling in forms and bureaucratic reports that are a waste of time. Rarely felt like my time was well used by the organization.
