I worked at University of New England Australia full-time for more than a year

    Pros

UNE was a successful place I have ever worked. It was a quiet environment that helped the general work and the productivity people put together which I learnt a lot in terms of as a learning community and also the campus is awesome. A good place to start in a country town in NSW.

    Cons

UNE however, has been lately had a decrease of student population due to online learning and reduced it's new intake students including both the local and international students.

"Former great University gone absolutely awful in past 6 years"

I worked at University of New England Australia

    Pros

Region is a nice place to live

    Cons

No direction, awful culture, terrible leadership (past 6 years), seriously bad bullying, no research interest, low standards. Successive recent executives with no real interest in the University or community, only them selves. Will destroy your career, especially if you are genuine good teacher and/or researcher.

    Pros

    - Gym on site - Good coworkers - if you can find a good silo away from central admin you don't really need to work much - good pay for low skilled positions

    Cons

    - Atrocious management - more than 50% of employees stated that workplace bullying was an accepted practice at UNE in two 360 reviews (conducted 2007 and 2010). - poor pay for mid to high skilled professionals - active bullying by senior management
