    Pros

Wide range of products/industries to get involved with. Plenty of autonomy to perform role.

    Cons

Extremely high amount of red-tape and processes in order to conduct daily business.

    Advice to Management

With such a broad range of products, requires support of very specialist teams to go to market effectively.

I have been working at VMware full-time

    Pros

Decent benefits, friendly people, great technology

    Cons

Wrong people get rewarded for salary increases Also, too much internal politics, and VMware does not listen to their customers about keeping things simple. Salaries poor compared to other upcoming technology companies.

    Advice to Management

Keep it simple. Reward the right people and they will stay.

I worked at VMware full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Enthusiastic field teams that are willing to help out Large ecosystem of partner solutions that fill many of the gaps in VMware's own products

    Cons

Arrogance of product management. Absolute lack of customer focus. Political infighting among managers damaging the career prospects of their direct reports Career progression is not based on capabilities. Taking credit for the work of others is encouraged and is the only way to progress your career. EMC influence is most definitely a negative influence and is getting worse. Forget the prospect of any decent career...

    Advice to Management

Stop patting yourselves on the back and start listening to your customers and customer facing teams. Get back to making customers lives easier instead of introducing more and more complex products and features that are never deployed, even if the sales teams manage to sell them.
