    I worked at Victoria's Secret part-time

    Pros

    - International company and recognised brand. - average employee discount

    Cons

    - ridiculous military-like rules - a cliquey, cold environment with fellow employees - pressure to harass customers even when it makes both you and them uncomfortable - complete detachment from the Australian market and consumer - training consisted of sitting in a room watching an American training video three times before being thrown out onto the floor with ruthless colleagues and no idea what I was doing.

    Advice to Management

Cater your training videos to the regions they are being used in! Aggressive, over the top American sales tactics will not work in a country such as Australia with such British introverted influence. It is uncomfortable to be pushed and pushed to nag a customer who is just trying to buy herself some underwear until she feels so uncomfortable she has to leave the store! A very tense work environment indeed.

I worked at Victoria's Secret part-time for less than a year

    Pros

30% discount off full priced items

    Cons

Terrible culture Management cutting shifts if individual targets aren’t met Fit card program is made to be competitive and results in employees becoming nasty to one another and sabotaging each other’s chances at making sales No job security Products are so overpriced that the staff discount just gets rid of the price inflation (online prices are much cheaper than in store) Management ‘forget’ about or ignore...

    Advice to Management

Motivate employees by just giving them the basic needs! Get the roster right, make sure employees that have requested days off are met and not put on the roster Social events would help the bad culture Eliminate the toxic work environment that has been shaped by the competitiveness of the ‘Fit Card’ program

I worked at Victoria's Secret part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Best sales team ever excluding managers

    Cons

Crazy manager and area manager cared so much about hitting unrealistic kpis in non sale quiet seasons. My manager was fake and a liar. always pressured me to make money by pressuring customers. Never cares about staff. Three hour shifts were pointless. My shifts were cancelled hours before. During my time here so many quit consequtively

    Advice to Management

Care more about your staff and hire genuine managers. Not much happened after I lodged a complaint

I have been working at Victoria's Secret part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Good pay - Generous discount across many different brands run by Valiram - Some great co workers to work with - Always get new stock in

    Cons

    - Management is very unorganised - little to no training for new employees - asked to do a lot of work and aren't recognised for it - managers are lazy, dodgy and can be very rude - there are set individual targets for every employee each shift and if they aren't met you get questioned. This leads to girls stealing sales and feeling pressured working. - Management is just slow and doesnt show much respect to employees...

    Advice to Management

    - Care more about your employees instead of ignoring them - Be more organised - Actually train employees
