I have been working at Waitrose part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good discount, canteens, benefits such as tickets etc, good career progression in stores from supermarket assistant to team leader to ATM, TM, ABM, BM. I team lead on reductions and food service but am also trained on replenishment, checkouts and the bakery. Good pay for industry. Thorough training.

    Cons

Expected to work bad hours such as 5 in the morning starts or finishing at 10 at night. Its hard to get bank holidays off. Most of the middle management are terrible to work with as a team leader especially if they don't really understand your section. Lots of management changes: my line manager has changed 8 times in 2 years. The pay is pretty unfair as my line manager has not a clue what I do so I feel slightly underrated. The company has scrapped Partner bonuses for more profit. I also think not enough steps are being taken to become more eco-firendly.
