I have been working at Wipro full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

This is one of best IT services company to work for. When it comes to taking care of high performers Wipro is one of best among IT. Superb learning environment, the quality/quantity of programs taken up to train resources in digital skill is just exceptional.

    Cons

A number of mid level managers (at least what I have seen) lack people management skills & this creates a lot of employee concern and affects performance.

    Advice to Management

Concentrate on other things apart from Digital

I have been working at Wipro full-time

    Pros

    1. Invests in Technology, in stead of rehashing the same old 'global delivery model' 2. Recognizes individual talent and does not force everyone to fit in the same bucket, which most of the time is defined by people who have no understanding of business 3. Friendly HR (India), the try to help and solve issues 4. Relationship between people is given importance, there is a human face 5. Probably one of the best when...

    Cons

    1. Too many roles in middle management, need to flatten the hierarchy 2. Salary disparity between existing people (even if well performing) and lateral recruits is a major issue 3. Seems there is always a reason for less/minuscule internal pay hike, but always enough reasons for the top mgmt to take industry leading hike 4. Some guys at the top don't seem to understand the business dynamics of today, a leader who don't...

    Advice to Management

    1. Wipro is unable to get top talents due to the huge gap of salary between existing people and laterals. It is a major credibility issue given the top dollar taken by the top mgmt this year, and throwing nothing for the real people who earn for the organization 2. We need a smart poster boy and a dynamic leader who gets rid of roles that are not adding value to customer and doing nothing for speeding up operations....

I have been working at Wipro full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    1. Stability 2. Brand Name 3. Exposure

    Cons

    1. Not agile 2. Growth opportunities are diminishing

    Advice to Management

    1. We need to get read of Bureaucracy at the earliest. Smallest of decisions take longest of time. This is seriously hampering our opportunities 2. Employee moral is low, growth opportunities are reducing 3. There is no visible difference in terms of our team getting digital ready

I have been working at Wipro full-time for less than a year

    Pros

A company with strong technical pedigree, and access to huge scale globally.

    Cons

Sales driven organisation that will tell the client what they want to hear, without necessarily the means to deliver.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Wipro full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great work culture, provides ample amount of opportunities, good at reskilling and training.

    Cons

Unfair review/appraisal and less salary hikes

    Advice to Management

Personally, I don't like the idea of dissolving the practices to vertical lines. This not only reduced the opportunities but also increased drop-out percentages because of hurdles in changing vertical lines. There is a need to re-evaluate and re-enable the practice for at least niche technology areas.
