    Pros

    Cons

Frozen middle - middle management don't seem to be able to effectively navigate company to aspirations set by the top. Divisions outside the UK/US are out of sight, out of mind and restricted Very political and share priced focused since acquisition of AmecFW.

    I worked at Wood

    Pros

I don’t have any “pros” to write about this company.

    Cons

Archaic systems and processes, completely left behind by the wider Wood organisation; this causes extensive and unnecessary additional man-hours of work. Expect to be working in the 50-60hr a week range including weekends, although overtime is paid for at normal rate. Possibility of promotion is less than 5%; have a role stay in a role mentality even when all cards are on the table to leave for another company. No training generally for employees, only witnessed the graduates get the training and most of that is internal.

I worked at Wood full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good location and modern office. Good colleagues.

    Cons

Wood corporate are all about cost cutting e.g. moving payroll and IT to India, good luck trying to get your pay fixed when they stuff it up or your IT to work. Company expects employees to work long hours. Poor practice in relation to internal jobs not being advertised, rather ‘certain’ ppl being placed quietly in to them.

I have been working at Wood full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Trying to think of something...... There are no Pro's

    Cons

Company went to the dogs after Wood Group buy out. Worst IT outsource to IBM. Management do not recognise the little people, you only climb the ladder if you are male and its who you know not judged on performance. The new HR team are useless, palm off everything to offshore HR team, there is more HR people then there are workers in each office now, they sit around telling people what to do with little outcome. No staff morale. Crappy atmosphere to work in.
