I worked at iiNet for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - (Formerly) great culture and work environment - (Former) executive management was open to direct communication and discussion - (Formerly) great commitment to customer service excellence made it a joy to go to work knowing you were making life better for customers - Constantly challenged by work, which helped career development

    Cons

    - Salaries under old management were lower than industry average for corporate staff - compensated for by formerly great culture and work environment - Salaries are better now, but it's a terrible place to work - New management is petty and simple minded - great work from home program axed, flexible work arrangements not permitted anymore, no commitment to customer service beyond mere lip service, insular work culture of TPG now permeates iiNet as well.

  5. "Great environment, inconsistent managerial team."

I worked at iiNet full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Everyone's iinet experience is slightly different. For me I don't know if I was merely lucky or somehow did certain things to avoid conflict but I never really had any problems. My pros would be: Positive comfortable work environment Friendly atmosphere Great company events Reasonable expections of emplotee Decent but monetarily average bonus system Advice for future applicants for iinet: If you can put up with the $40 pa salary, job stress and implied employee disposability, iinet is a great place to work at. As long as you keep your head down, do your work to the best of your ability, show up on time and avoid sick days, you will have a similar experience to mine - which over all I would classify as positive.

    Cons

Although I never had any negative experiences, I found the managerial system was often employed a philosophically flawed and unfair bias to those who did not "fit in". This is a hard thing to explain because everyone's a bit nerdy and quirky and for the most part iinet has a huge range of different people accoss gender, ethnicity and even disability, the largest I've ever witnessed in my working history, but there was several times I observed unfair singling out of other employees, unfortunately if you are unlucky enough to put a thorn in one of the managers foot with a simple mistake or the way you behave, simply because the manager woke up on the wrong side of the bed, you may be made to feel at uneasy and may find your workload increasing and more than average pressure applied. Pay could be better for stress involved but I was happy enough with it as I felt the benefits far outweighed the negatives.

I have been working at iiNet full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Fantastic people who are genuinely interested in helping customers. Social working environment. Drinking culture (if you're into that)

    Cons

Generally allergic to change and new ideas. Drinking culture. High staff turnover leads to many "rookie" mistakes.

I have been working at iiNet full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The friendly people and staff here, the social culture. Relaxed working environment. Very flexible work time, which is a plus for parents, as staff can also work from home

    Cons

You eventually hit a glass ceiling and have nowhere to go. No investment in training of staff or promoting of current staff, which eventually forces them to move elsewhere. Work life balance can be absolutely nightmare sometimes Salary is currently non-competitive versus industry rates and people may not be paid what they're worth, leaving them to search elsewhere

I worked at iiNet full-time for less than a year

    Pros

iiNET is a great place to work in terms of the work environment. The people there are very supportive, and it is okay to make mistakes. You are put into teams who work very close with each other, and the work is also very autonomous. It is easy to pick up if you are good at talking to people.

    Cons

Compensation was a bit low for my situation at the time, and some aspects of the call allocating system should be reviewed. Had very specific sales and customer service targets that were to be met if you wanted your monthly bonus.
