"Careers rarely unfold in straight lines, and some of the best opportunities show up unexpectedly. "Surround yourself with people who lift you higher. Seek out people who inspire you, challenge you, and show you what’s possible. And finally, always trust your gut instincts, and don’t be afraid to take the leap even when it feels uncomfortable. " Sinead O'Sullivan | Senior HR Business Partner We're celebrating International Women's Day this week by highlighting some of our key employees across our business. #eirforall #IWD2026 #connectingforabetterIreland
We’re proud to announce that eir Ireland is the first Irish mobile operator to achieve speeds exceeding #2Gbps in a busy city centre environment. This milestone reflects our commitment to delivering cutting-edge connectivity where it matters most. eir’s #5G network now reaches 99% of the population, offering high-speed, low-latency mobile access across nearly every corner of Ireland. #eirForAll #ConnectingIreland
A century after it first appeared, the iconic K1 kiosk has returned to public life! It was a pleasure to help unveil eir Ireland's donation of this beautifully restored phone box at its new home: The Little Museum of Dublin. To bring it back to life, we’ve fitted it with a specially adapted phone, allowing visitors to experience the simple joy of making a call from a classic K1 once again. We were joined by an enthusiastic group of students from Drimnagh Castle primary school, whose excitement reminded us not only of the charm of the K1, but also of how far the communications industry has come. At their peak, over 3,300 payphone boxes were in use across the country, playing a vital role in daily life. While many have since been transformed into tourism kiosks, defibrillator stations and electric vehicle charging points, this restoration represents something different. We’re proud to celebrate the legacy of Irish communications while continuing to shape its future. #eirforall
eirs' favourite time every year is the annual eir challenge, where colleagues from across Ireland train over the summer months in their own personal challenge and fundraise for Special Olympics Ireland. This year is a particularly special year as we celebrated our 40 year partnership with Special Olympics Ireland. The eirchallenge event took place on 26th September. It was an absolutely glorious day in Dublin and our HQ was filled with people wearing their purple #eirchallenge shirts and coming together to bring our purpose of #connectingforabetterIreland to life. We had teams running, walking or cycling all across Ireland to complete their chosen event. So far, we have raised just over €60,000 for the Special Olympics Ireland Young Athlete programme with funds still coming in. A great day and a great cause #eirforall
