Our London team volunteered at our local #FoodForAll last week! They helped prepare and serve meals to those in need, in an effort to fight against hunger. We are proud to be a part of this cause and we will always commit to giving back to our communities.
A day in the life of… Mary Melton, Graduate Analyst Mary is one of our first two graduate analysts. She has a Masters in International Development from the University of Edinburgh, where she researched the political economy of China’s engagement in the African mining sector. Prior to joining the company, Mary lived and worked in Haiti as an undergraduate. Her work mainly encompassed medical equipment systems management and the water and sanitation fields. Fun fact: Mary spent her summer holiday on a 5,600 mile road trip across the US, indulging in quintessential American hobbies: hitting the open road, singing country music while driving, going to Major League baseball games (8 in total at 7 different ballparks), and hiking in Glacier National Park.
A day in the life of… Nick Murphy, Product Specialist Nick works as a Product Specialist in the commercial team at Vortexa. Prior to joining the company, Nick worked at S&P Global as a petrochemical research analyst where he covered global propylene derivative markets. Fun fact: Nick can do a backflip!
Q & A with Vickie Shoesmith, Marketing Campaign Manager Vickie works on the growth marketing team as a campaign manager, and is responsible for designing and implementing marketing strategies to launch products and help grow the Vortexa community. Vickie previously worked in the technology events industry, and has 12 years of experience leading teams on large-scale international events and campaigns. Fun fact: Vickie can perform a lot of circus skills and when feeling VERY brave has even done fire performances in the past. Prior to joining Vortexa, Alan worked at an analytics company,and brought with him experience across energy trading and risk management. Fun fact: ‘When we started thinking about starting a family, I have to confess I had my heart set on having sons but after being blessed with a daughter, I am very glad the universe had other ideas.’
