    Rainbow flag raised by Wiltshire Council for LGBT history month

    A RAINBOW flag was hoisted up the mast at County Hall in Trowbridge on Thursday (February 1) to mark the start of LGBT History Month. Wiltshire Council Chairman Allison Bucknell raised the flag, along with staff and members of the LGBT forum attending the ceremony at 9.30am.

  • Thanks to locally based Apetito for providing the food, Wiltshire Council, Dorset & Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service, plus the Mayor of Trowbridge, Deborah Halik, County Hall hosted the annual Christmas day lunch - organised for those who may otherwise be on their own at Christmas time. Many volunteers, including those from Wiltshire Council gave up their time on Christmas Day to help.

    AROUND 130 guests enjoyed a special Christmas Day lunch at County Hall in Trowbridge organised for people who might otherwise be alone. They were served a traditional three-course turkey dinner with all the trimmings by more than 120 volunteers who had given up their time to help others enjoy their Christmas Day.

    First Trowbridge EmployAbility Fair is a success

    TROWBRIDGE employers were helping promote job opportunities and routes to different careers for people with a disability at County Hall on Tuesday. Wiltshire Council's first ever EmployAbility Fair drew in more than 100 people, who got to speak to employers and service providers at nearly 30 different stalls, all offering advice and support.
