I’m working as an External Audit Senior at Deloitte with around 4.5 years. I’ve worked on internal controls, SOX compliance. I enjoy the controls and process understanding side of work much more than substantive testing. Because of that, I’m now considering exploring opportunities in SOX compliance roles. Does switching from External Audit to SOX/Internal Audit after 4.5 years make sense from a longterm? How is the growth, learning curve, and compensation compared to staying in external audit?
