KPMG is removing summer work hours. Is this an indicator of the industry being in a really bad position or just their firm in need of some help? Am applying to a senior manager role over there but am getting more concerned each day with the negative changes to the work culture. Any insights are much greatly appreciated.

How important has it been to make friendships in consulting? Recently had a “friend” that I had made in consulting years ago take some information to back stab me. Apologies for ranting but I guess I’d prefer to see if it is better to fight for myself vs work together in some of these firms…

I wanted to get your thoughts on this debate my colleagues and I had this morning. Do you think it would be better to retire at age 35 with $2 million in the bank or retire in your late 50s or early 60s with $10 million in the bank?

I was told I earn too much for a cost of living raise. However, the cost of living keeps increasing, so our salaries aren't going as far as they used to. Thus, shouldn't our salaries increase with prices?

I received my first large bonus, $12,480. I'm excited, and hope more of these checks are to come. I'm not sure what to do with this money. How do you guys spend your bonuses?
