Has anyone taken beta blockers before an interview? Do they work?
Fellow consultants — I have a shot at management but suspect a likeability gap is holding me back. I'm great one-on-one but struggle in group culture: I prefer owning projects solo, skip the lengthy "chew the fat" discussions, and have a hard time staying quiet when I see a better path. I notice senior leaders say less — I say more. How do you learn to play the game without losing yourself?
Anyone else applying everywhere and hearing nothing?
I like my job alot. I work with smart people. I have a ton of flexibility. All in (salary, bonus, equity) I make $300k mcol. It's kind of a dead end, I'm not gonna make partner and it's PE backed so I could lose my job at any time. At some point I'll probably be laid off because that just seems to be the new reality. I struggle with looking for a new role because I like my role. But also I feel lazy just chilling. Sanity check if I should try to jump and get back on the escalator or enjoy it?
Which programming language should I learn to break into technical roles related to AI. I have a non-technical consulting background and am currently looking to expand my skills.
Would you take a $20k bump to work in person 5 days/week? (Remote Fridays in the summer) & there’s a chance the company will eventually go back to hybrid. you also get the flexibility on ur work hours so could do a 7am-3pm schedule to avoid traffic
I had a friend who routinely had to give presentations to groups of 100-250 and had to take 12.5mg of a beta blocker to get through them. Crazy thing is she killed the presentations every time
EY1 A1 - wow! I had the same experience. It really affected my work performance! Literally I flunked off a project (read rolled off 🤭) it was bad! started taking it before bed time.
Don’t take too many and faint while trying to stand up suddenly
Like, right before the interview? I wouldn't recommend it but they gave me brain fog and I'm not sure if everyone is affected in that way.
It is, and it works. It gave me really fucked up dreams so I switched to atenolol. I was taking them for hypertension.
And if your resting HR is already on the low-end, you don't want to take them...again you'll risk fainting
Try adderall
