Does anyone have any tips for a group interview at McDonald’s ?
Does anyone draw a complete blank at interviews? From the time they say "So tell me about yourself" I go into fight or flight mode. It as if they're asking me about someone else's life. They say don't try to memorize your answers, but I have no other choice. I sturdy all these stories and intro's about myself and still can't remember. I don't know what to do. I have had at least 4 interviews and at each one I rambled and didn't get the job.
Just read an article from Fortune about people feeling too burnt out to apply for jobs. Is that you? I get it. This paragraph really summed it up for me: "Compounding the immobility: job seekers are being ghosted at a three-year high, with more than half of applicants reporting no response from employers in the past year. Hiring experts connect the trend directly to AI-inflated application volumes overwhelming recruiters — the same feedback loop burning candidates out. [...]"
The thing is I get interviews, but after I always get rejected is it the way I answer question or my personality?
I have an interview tomorrow. How would you answer the question “why are you looking to leave your current job? “ it’s a lateral move and similar industry but it’s toxic. I have had this job a year.
Can someone hire me without an interview? I can do the job, but I can't handle interviews. 😭 I have experience in Customer Service and Back Office roles, but since I graduated last year, I've found it difficult to apply for jobs. The interview process makes me really anxious, even though I know I can do the work.
Yes. Mention Your first time going to McDonald's. Talk about your favorite food items they sell. also, refer to any skills that you may use at home or in life that can be applied to work at McDonalds. And say things like, “I wouldn’t serve food to the public that I won’t eat myself.” Or “I enjoy working with on team. I’m motivated by others and I find that teamwork allows me to learn from others, while being helpful”
This is great actionable advice!
Collared button up shirt. Clean fingernails. Shake hands. Be polite and respectful. Say thank you. Listen. Some of your potential colleagues will not be interested in the job and their behavior will reflect that - do not get sucked in. Ask questions about the workday. If they tell you about tasks during the workday, tell them about where you've done similar tasks in the past. Ask them what differentiates a good hire. Ask what success looks like after a first shift.
Just be yourself and dress professionally
Be professional and responsible. That goes a long way. Prepare for situation-based questions. What would you do if a customer were upset? That kind of thing. Best of luck!
A group interview at McDonalds? I have only had one on one interviews at McDonald's although that was over 37 years ago. I would say to dress business casual, wear your pants properly (not down at your butt) if you have any facial piercings to remove them, and cover up any / all visible tattoos that you might have. If you have polished fingernails, make sure, they are the same color plus watch the cologne or perfume as someone might be allergic to it.
