Which career choice is better TESTER or DEVELOPER?? And if developer which stack??

This may be controversial, but I’ve seen cases where Indian leadership at the top can harm a healthy work environment through micromanagement, unrealistic expectations, and poor work-life balance, pushing teams beyond their roles while cutting costs. After our UK management handed control to a new director in India, the team has increasingly been made to feel like underperformers despite consistent effort. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this!
2.8 LPA → 27 LPA. Just signed my first switch. 5 years ago, I joined HCLTech as a Manual Tester. Since then, my journey took me through Data Analytics, Data Engineering, and eventually GenAI. Once I got into GenAI, I started interviewing seriously. There were rejections, lessons, and plenty of learning along the way. Thanks to everyone who trusted me with opportunities beyond testing. A lot of late nights, self-doubt, learning, and growth. Worth it.
Need genuine career advice. I have multiple offers and I’m confused considering age (32), marriage plans, growth, salary, learning, stability, and long-term impact. Role is Data Scientist/AI/ML. Offers: EY – 24 fixed + 8% variable LTM – 23 fixed + 10% Capgemini – 23 fixed + 10% Volkswagen GDS – 24 fixed + 10% Publicis Sapient – 27 fixed Metro GSC – 27 fixed Tiger Analytics – 27 fixed (Hyderabad) Most are Pune-based except Tiger. Which would you choose and why?
Dev generally has 20% more salary, but much more workload. It also depends on your interest if you are good at building something or finding faults in something. A dev cannot code in all languages, but QA can test any website written in any language using 1 language using any automation tool. Don't think coding knowledge guys become dev and non coding do testing. Testing is not just manual testing, it is very broad field. I am SDET and moving now towards dev role.

Dev is good, but Automation Testing has great potential, but that's until AI has fully penetrated.
Agreed but also I now code using GenAI as a guide so I don’t think Automation Testers will be made redundant by GenAI. One has to verify and validate any and all code GenAI spews out. Creative fields can never be overtaken by GenAI, only enhanced. Like photography and painting: cameras didn’t make paintings obsolete; they only made realism cheaper.
