Cons
A once "everyone knows one another" and genuinely people-first culture is no more. As the company exponentially expanded, workplace culture backslid. What has resulted is an organization that props up a former veneer of itself, touting diversity/core values/positive global impact externally - yet the truth couldn't be any starker.
Other reviews are correct that this private company has not ever experienced layoffs. But the last 2 years have seen a massive upheaval of terminations (and not for the individuals/leaders who actually should be removed). Office politics has become rampant and burnout is not exclusive to any single function, it is universal. Employee engagement initiatives (employee resource groups, social responsibility efforts, learning and development) that once felt sincere and resourced are now nearly non-existent. It feels like employees are actually being penalized for volunteering to support the positive working culture - a lot of those fired coincidentally are from these spaces.
The company is private, but it cannot make brand decisions without express approval from headquarters in Japan. As much as TPCi intends to stand on its own, parental japanese business culture is firmly ingrained and it stifles innovation, efficiency, and progress.
A former pro would have been internal mobility. But now leadership is saturated, middle management is apathetic without progress, and individual contributors are stuck in their roles for many years. If you're looking to grow your career, this is not one of those places unless you enter as a Sr. Manager or Director.
Finally, there have been attempts to take this company's tools/systems out of the Stone Age, but progress is painfully slow and change management to get people to learn new things is poorly done.
