Just quickly build rapport and relate to the customer to the best of my ability, express concern in their issue and show how important it is to me to resolve whatever is upsetting them in the most above and beyond way just to show that “personal touch” to the highest level allowed for me without hindering anything that impacts the company.

Ask them specific questions to get to the root of the issue and resolve it.
