As a catalog designer one either has "zero" retail experience because all sales are generated through a photo-visual-text-based sales environment that is completely removed from a hands-on store retail experience. Or the designer may say "lots" and view presentations of individual catalog pages as coordinated statements that present a highly controlled series of merchandising statements regardless of the presence of product. I tried to get those points across but they went over the poor fellow's head.
