How I would react to a 2 months delay in a project?

As a Project Manager, I should know all the information and important delays of the project but before informing the client, I would have a meeting with the team, make sure to get in hand all the information the client could ask. Then I would set the meeting with the client, inform them about the problem in the schedule giving him/her the better explanation about the delay and assuring we are doing our best to reduce this giving time and getting the best functional outcome.
