RGB stands for Red, Green, Blue and is the standard for video output. CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black and is typical for standard offset printing. Basically RGB is for all things seen on a video screen or monitor and CMYK is for all physical printed pieces you hold in your hand, flyers, brochures, posters, etc.
