A Technical Writer creates clear, accurate, and user-friendly written materials that explain complex technical concepts, products, or software features to the target audience — often developers, product users, or internal teams. This job can be done fully remotely and is popular among digital nomads because it primarily requires internet access, writing skills, and collaboration tools.
Common Responsibilities:
Write and maintain product documentation, user manuals, help center articles, API guides, tutorials, and release notes.
Work with engineers, product managers, designers, and QA to understand features and translate them into easy-to-follow docs.
Create onboarding materials and workflows for new users.
Update existing content when the product changes.
Ensure documentation follows style guides, readability standards, and branding guidelines.
Use documentation tools like Notion, Confluence, ReadMe, Markdown, GitHub, etc., to publish and manage content.
Skills & Qualifications:
Excellent written English and communication skills.
Ability to explain technical topics clearly for non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with documentation platforms and tooling.
Ideally some background in software, tech products, or developer-focused writing.
