Position Overview

The Defence Products Program Manager will report directly to the CEO and play a pivotal role in leading product development projects within our small business unit. This position demands a high level of expertise in program management and product development, with a focus on the commercialisation of CTS products, starting with our launcher systems. Your leadership will not only guide project delivery but also foster the development of our engineering talent as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage programs for the design, development, and implementation of advanced automated mechatronic systems tailored for defense applications.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Production, Engineering, and Quality, to define project requirements and ensure successful project outcomes.
• Mentor and guide engineers and technicians to enhance their skills and project delivery capabilities.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners, suppliers, and customers to ensure product-market fit and satisfaction.
• Ensure adherence to best practices in the product development process and implement necessary procedures at CTS.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate technical, schedule, and budgetary risks.
• Oversee daily development operations and ensure compliance with industry certifications, including AS 9100 and DISP.
• Contribute to the strategic goals of CTS, participating in growth initiatives and corporate alliances.
• Promote a culture of safety, ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in leading complex projects related to automated mechatronic systems, preferably within the defense industry.
• In-depth knowledge of mechatronics, robotics, and defense technology applications.
• Strong understanding of defense processes, regulations, and applicable standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
• Ability to obtain security clearance as required for defense-related projects.
• Relevant formal education and certifications in Engineering, Project Management, or Defence Networks.
