Working closely with delivery teams, architects and business stakeholders, the position supports the implementation of platform changes, assists with release activities and ensures adherence to governance and security standards. Through effective platform administration and continuous improvement, the role enables teams to maximise the value of Salesforce capabilities while maintaining system stability, performance and compliance.

About the Division
The Information Management and Technology Division guides the Departments' digital capability and is leading digital transformation for the Department including Victorian government schools. The Division architects, manages and supports the largest technology network in Victoria, supporting a user base of approximately 750,000 staff and students.
IMTD provides innovation and leadership in the transformation and management of the Department's digital capability through the implementation of solutions on the department's cloud environment (IaaS), enterprise cloud platforms (PaaS) and software (SaaS), using agile practices with a focus on user experience, security, and integration.

About the Role

Through effective platform administration and continuous improvement, the role enables teams to maximise the value of Salesforce capabilities while maintaining system stability, performance and compliance.
Key Responsibilities include:

Managing user provisioning, profiles, roles, permission sets, and sharing rules in alignment with government security policies and least-privilege principles

Administering licences across multiple Salesforce orgs (Production, SIT/UAT, QA, Dev sandboxes), optimising allocation against budget constraints

Managing connected apps, named credentials, and single sign-on (SSO) integration with government identity providers

Maintaining a structured sandbox strategy and managing refresh schedules
-
Responding to security incidents, escalating anomalies and participating in vulnerability assessments

Monitoring system health, API usage, governor limits, storage consumption, and async job queues

Performing regular data quality checks, deduplication, and archiving in line with records management obligations

Acting as the primary liaison with Salesforce account management and support (raising and tracking cases, escalating critical issues)

Collaborating with business stakeholders, Administrators, Analysts, Developers and Managers on platform- related requests

Evaluating new Salesforce releases and assessing impact, testing in sandbox and coordinating rollout communications

Championing DevOps best practices within the team

Maintaining compliance documentation for audits

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience in enterprise platform administration.

Demonstrated experience administering and supporting the Salesforce platform within a complex enterprise or government environment, including configuration of objects, fields, automation, profiles, permission sets and user access controls.

Proven experience with Salesforce environments across the delivery lifecycle, including development, QA, SIT, UAT, Staging and Production, with an understanding of release management, deployment coordination and environment governance.

Strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities including automation tools (Flow), reporting and dashboards, data management and platform security.

Experience supporting platform governance, security compliance and data integrity in alignment with organisational policies and best practice frameworks.
-
Experience working collaboratively with solution architects, developers, testers and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable platform configurations and support delivery outcomes.

Salesforce Administrator Certification (ADM 201) or equivalent platform administration experience is highly desirable.
