Scope:
The Field Application Engineer supports the entire range of CADENCE EDA software products. The Primary focus involves promotion and technical support of Cadence AWR Microwave Office software products, OrCAD X, Allegro X, Celsius, Sigrity and other MSA products.
The main responsibilities include the promotion of Cadence products to existing and new customers in collaboration with the Braemac Sales Team, training and technical support for customers evaluating Cadence products.
The job is a mix of customer support, technical marketing, and sales.
Experience using Microwave Office software or other high-frequency Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software for the design of high-frequency and high-speed digital physical layer components from single purpose amplifiers to complex RF modules and high-speed digital boards is desired.
This is a fixed-term parental leave cover position till December 2026.
Accountabilities:
- Working closely with the Sales Team to promote Cadence software products to existing and new prospect customers.
- Organising regular customer Technical Presentations
- Providing technical support and training to customers evaluating Cadence software, as well as providing benchmarking if required
- Assisting in the implementation of Cadence software into the customers' design methodologies
- Consult with customers to understand their needs and communicate feedback to Cadence as relevant
- Educate, technical influence, Evangelize and drive adoption of Cadence products across customers.
- Tracking competitive landscape, customer landscape gathering and mapping
- Knowledge of satellite communications systems and Defence related electronics including radar, electronic warfare and guidance systems.
Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience working with EDA software, in particular Microwave Office software, SPICE and other high-frequency design tool.
- Focused expertise in the area of electromagnetic (EM) simulation, circuit simulation, or system simulation is especially desirable.
- 2-5 years of hardware design experience or technical support experience is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent required.
