Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager (Hunter) with deep expertise in the supply chain and logistics sector to lead Adaca's growth into this vertical across Australia and New Zealand. In this role, you will own the full new-business cycle - from identifying and targeting mid-market accounts to partnering with our solutions team to convert qualified opportunities into long-term consulting and delivery engagements. You will leverage an existing network of senior operations and technology leaders to drive pipeline and revenue growth for Adaca's custom software, AI, and data platform solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Pipeline Generation & Sales Strategy
- Build and execute a vertical growth strategy for supply chain across ANZ, targeting mid-market businesses (20–250 staff) in freight & logistics, 3PL, manufacturing, distribution, retail supply chain, and adjacent sectors
- Generate qualified pipeline through outbound prospecting, account-based marketing, industry events, partner ecosystems, and warm referrals — your network is the engine of this role
- Run a disciplined, multi-threaded sales process from first conversation through to signed Statement of Work (typically 6–12 weeks for initial engagements with land-and-expand potential)
Client Engagement & Solution Selling
- Partner with Solution Architects and Delivery Leads to scope proposals, build commercials, and pitch tailored solutions that win on value, not price
- Represent Adaca at industry events, panels, and across content channels, building a personal brand as a trusted advisor in supply chain technology
Market Intelligence & Collaboration
- Feed market intelligence back into marketing, product, and partnership strategies, helping shape the offerings Adaca takes to the supply chain market over the next 12–24 months
- Collaborate closely with the COO and broader sales team to align on strategy, forecasting, and revenue targets
- Maintain clean, accurate forecasting in HubSpot and contribute to a predictable revenue engine
Qualifications:
Essential
- must have an existing network of senior operations and technology contacts across ANZ supply chain, logistics, freight, 3PL, or manufacturing organizations - this matters more than a large generic network
- Background selling into or working within the supply chain, logistics, freight, or 3PL sector as a hunter; strongest fits include logistics/supply chain recruiters (360-desk), industrial real estate agents, marine and cargo insurance brokers, and 3PL or warehouse BDMs
- Proven hunter mindset - personally cold-sourced pipeline and carried an individual new-business number, not inherited a patch or farmed existing accounts
- 5+ years of consultative B2B sales experience
- Strong commercial instincts - qualify hard, walk away from poor-fit opportunities, and focus energy on deals that will close
- Excellent written communication skills for proposals, executive summaries, and client follow-ups
Highly Regarded
- Experience selling onshore-offshore or blended delivery models
- Background in management consulting or supply chain operations earlier in career
