Dredging, Environmental and Marine Engineering keeps dredging work from being anything but drudgery. Also known as DEME, it is one of the largest marine engineering companies in the world. Through its subsidiaries, the group is involved in dredging and land reclamation, hydraulic engineering, environmental remediation, offshore oil and gas services, and marine aggregates. Its fleet of 80 main vessels includes the world's largest cutter suction dredger, the 38,000 hp D'Artagnan. DEME also has been instrumental in building many of Northern Europe's offshore wind farms. DEME has operations in 27 countries; it's equally owned by Ackermans & Van Haaren and Compagnie d'Enteprises.
