Talk is cheap but doesn't go far without a phone, especially in one of the world's largest continents. That's where Vodacom Group comes in. Through its various subsidiaries, the company provides contract and prepaid cellular phone services to more than 34 million customers in southern African countries like the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa, Lesotho, Tanzania, and Mozambique. The company primarily targets businesses and corporations for its contract services; however, a majority of Vodacom Group's customers use its prepaid services. About two-thirds of the company's shares are owned by UK-based Vodafone Group.
