Pros

The work is interesting and makes good use of a modern tech stack – including infrastructure as code, CI/CD, AI tools, backend, frontend, and mobile development. The culture is supportive, people are friendly and open to feedback, and the flexible hybrid setup makes for a great work-life balance.

Cons

Things run smoothly overall, but there’s plenty of work to do and only so much that fits into each sprint, managing tech debt, infrastructure, or making time for learning.

Pros

- Amazing engineering team where you will always feel supported, get to work on a variety of interesting tasks. Always feel like a team rather than competing with others. - Don't feel like a cog in the wheel, my work I do and my voice is valued - Great company culture - Good pay & perks

Cons

The Auckland office is moving away from a flexible remote working situation, at least one day a week in the office is required now.

Hi there, Thanks so much for your thoughtful review — we're thrilled to hear how supported you feel by your teammates and how much you value the culture, variety of work, and sense of contribution at AskNicely. That’s exactly the environment we aim to create. We also want to acknowledge your comment about our hybrid working approach. While we’ve never operated as a remote-first company, we remain fully committed to a flexible hybrid model that balances autonomy with in-person connection. Requiring one day a week in the Auckland office is intended to support collaboration, culture, and team alignment — and we believe it's a very flexible setup compared to many other companies in our industry. We appreciate you sharing this perspective, and we’ll continue to listen and evolve as our team and work environment grows. Thanks again for your feedback!

Pros

- Clear and consistent internal communication around expectations and projects. - Strong emphasis on learning and growth: lots of upskilling opportunities. - Flexible work setup with support for both office and remote work. - Real focus on individuals, their career goals, and personal development. - Transparent and supportive leadership team. - Inclusive, open, and genuinely welcoming company culture.

Cons

Can't think of cons! But this might be a useful callout: Most of the team works remotely, with only a few in-office days per week. If you thrive in a full-time, in-office environment, this setup might not provide the level of face-to-face interaction you're looking for.

Thanks so much for the awesome feedback! It’s great to hear that the focus we place on clear communication, personal growth, and flexibility is landing well — we’re always aiming to play to win by supporting our people to do their best work. We also really appreciate the thoughtful callout about in-person time. While we’re proud of our flexible approach, we know some folks thrive on more face-to-face connection — and that’s helpful feedback as we keep evolving how we work together. Thanks again for taking the time to share. We love your feedback!
