Pros

I began at Brideside without ever having a full-cycle sales position. I was very pleased with the amount of training my new-hire class received - most was virtual through programmed modules but they ended with follow-up sessions from managers or the HR team. Onboarding and training weren't "fun," but I did learn a lot and felt set up to begin taking clients! Even after my official training period was over, I consistently felt supported by my direct manager and fellow stylists. The more tenured stylists were always able to help answer questions and help me navigate learning so much information at once. My direct manager was motivational and easy to work with. She often took the entire team's input into decisions she could have made herself which made us all feel valued and more in tune with the company. Additionally, she made PTO requests easy (and it's unlimited)!! Work-life balance is PUSHED here which I had never experienced before. My manager really encouraged her staff to turn off slack and Gmail notifications on their days off so that we could all come back to work refreshed.

Cons

My biggest con would be that there were discrepancies with what I was told during my interview and what my offer letter and contract noted in regard to the compensation structure. I was under the impression that I would made x% commission on all sales but later found our that you have to meet a lofty threshold to receive any commission at all. I understand that there was a company-wide change in the compensation and commission structure around the time that I was hired so that is likely where the misunderstanding came from, however, it still caused confusion and dissatisfaction on my end.
