Pros

Great pair programming culture, really nice people to work with, supportive managers and an overall great working environment. Fully remote with flexibility to relocate

Cons

Rails app that has been going for 6 years with many new ideas stacked on top - Elm, vue, whatever rocks the boat to the current developer goes. You could argue this is positive as there is freedom to implement new things - but the legacy codebase needs a lot of maintenance that's not given its due 40 hour work week instead of industry norm of 37.5 hours feels unnecessary, Lack of structured learning - encouraged to request for learning time, but still no structure to do so

Pros

Great work like balance. Supportive and kind coworkers. The company's mission takes into account students as their number one priority and this is truly illustrated through their work. Flexibility and room to grow and take on more projects as you desire. Definitely recommend BridgeU to anyone who is looking for a highly interesting job in EdTech. Things are changing at a rapid pace and the company is continuing to grow and expand at an impressive speed.

Cons

-Slow at adopting to industry trends and making changes to their software. -No such 'ladder' to climb or guideline of getting promoted within your team. -Low salaries for a Tech company.

Thank you for your review! We are so pleased you are happy working here and enjoying being part of the team. Thank you also for your comments for improvement, which we'll take into account including benchmarking salaries against the rest of the market. With regards to promotion, we do have a set framework for this, but clearly we must make sure this is better communicated so that everyone in the team can see a pathway for themselves. Thanks again and if you have any more feedback, feel free to reach out anytime to the HR team - we're always open to discussing this.
