Pros

- My primary interest is data science and machine learning, and financial services firms have some of the oldest and deepest oceans of data. Software engineering at Daric allows me to develop software to use this data in very innovative ways. - Impressive and diverse client list. - Friendly atmosphere. - Management gives engineers a blueprint of the tasks that need to be completed, and then gives them the freedom to complete them without micro-managing.

Cons

Cost of living in the Bay Area is high.

Pros

- Very smart people, and interesting to be around - The rest of the team encourages you to think big - Very good product

Cons

I do not live close to the office, so the Silicon Valley traffic can be a bit of a drag.

Pros

I was part of the team that helped build the first version of the product. Good ideas, smart people, and I really liking coding in python. I formed good relationships with the people I worked with, and I am still friends with them.

Cons

The environment was intense because the company was working hard to get the first version of their product to market. The product was cool, but given the regulated nature of financial services, we had to spend a lot of time on making sure compliance was perfect. I really like coding and solving hard math problems, and even though we got the compliance done properly, I found it to be a bit tedious.
