Pros

EDB is a fantastic home for anyone who values the open-source spirit. We act as a thoughtful partner and contributor to the Postgres community, investing in the tools we all rely on. This isn't just a corporate stance; it’s reflected in a culture that is more "open source" and collaborative than anywhere else I have worked. The Wellness Fridays (one Friday off per month) are a massive highlight. Having that day to handle life’s errands or just recharge is a game-changer for morale and something my peers at other companies are genuinely jealous of. While we work hard to hit aggressive deadlines, there is genuine compassion and flexibility for when life inevitably happens. I feel more supported here than at any other time in my career; the management chain is technically excellent, and our CHRO has been a standout driver of positive change since her arrival.

Cons

The "Timezone Tax" is a reality for a US-based company. To stay connected and maintain visibility for progression in non-US regions, you have to accept late-night/early morning meetings and asynchronous context-gathering via recordings. Additionally, Slack fragmentation is a persistent challenge in a global organization, which can sometimes dilute important conversations.

Thank you for taking time to review! We're glad the benefits, including the flexibility of working from home, were a highlight of your time at EDB. Thank you for flagging the concern about toxic employees as that kind of feedback matters to us as we work to maintain a positive, respectful culture for everyone. We wish you all the best in your next chapter.
