The software engineering team is toxic. In particular, three individuals working on the company's next generation of sorting machine software. (I worked at the London office located close to Beckton so cannot comment on other software teams at other offices.)
If your female, muslim or of African descent avoid this company unless you absolutely are desperate for a job. Otherwise you will experience daily hostile, offensive and abusive behaviour based on your race, religion and gender.
There is a high turnover of staff in the software team. Seven fulltime engineers have left, that i know off. Over 50% of staff. Basically everyone apart from the toxic people leave as soon as they can.
The complaints procedure is rigged in favour of loud, aggressive personalities and you will be expected to "give as good as you get" with the "banter" or "rough it out". All which are designed to lead to confrontations. Which have happened. HR are complicit and you will find alot of words and delay tactics but no action. The behaviour seems accepted and fits in with the overall company culture.
