Pros
- Some of the brightest engineering minds working in the industry - Nice office spaces and perks - Above average in market salary
Cons
This once good company has been ruined by selfish political play at the higher levels which has resulted in executive management each building their own fiefdoms. This results in projects being run in an uncoordinated fashion and frustrated clients. The PMs and Client Delivery Leads don't have the intestinal fortitude nor the competency to take responsibility and manage client expectations and so the blame gets shifted to the Engineering team who are constantly treading water either due to sharp timelines or not enough resources or both. Scapegoats are found within the engineering team as a way to deflect blame away from upper management which results in the loss of key technical leaders within the company. Gender politics also seems to be at play where managers want to be white knights. Positions are often filled with young and attractive female staff who do not have the necessary experience and knowledge but are given huge authority on projects. This is part of promoting Gorilla's image as a gender-equal workplace. As a result, clients are misled on expectations and added work/stress is placed upon the more experienced and skilled team members. When the project goes south, the inexperienced female staff are exempt from blame and the blame is instead shifted to the very people skilled and experienced enough to do the work.
