Pros

- Stand out humans doing their best to build an amazing suite of GenAI tools for creatives. - Leonardo.ai is the best example of "living the values" that I've seen in nearly 15 years of startups. From what I can see, people really make an effort to get stuff done for the team, even when it means leaning into areas they're not 100% responsible for. - The Leonardo.ai platform drops people's jaws on a regular basis. It's fun to work on software that users love and are super excited about. - Compensation is average, benefits are rather light compared to other similar employers in my location, but the management is generally reasonable, and if there are things you need it's usually taken care of.

Cons

- It's a fast growing company, with all the fun and chaos that comes with that. Processes and priorities can change fast, and finding what you need isn't always straightforward - but the team is always helpful! - The team in Europe is still small, so when the Aussies are asleep, it can be a bit quiet.

Pros

Some genuinely nice people trying to do the right thing and help the company. Canva stocks without the politics.

Cons

A lack of accountability across the engineering org exacerbated by use of AI. I see PRs that say, "please review carefully as this is written with claude". How is this level of accountability acceptable? Every squad optimises for their own delivery often at the detriment of the organization as a whole. Why make your alerts maintainable if the creator isn't the one on call? Why document if theres no value placed on knowledge sharing?
