Pros

Enthought makes it a point to hire PhD's who know how to code, that is write research code. They then train them in how to write production grade code, which is a different game. So if you want to break into the software industry from being an academic, its really fantastic.

Cons

The tool stack is narrow, and it can be tough since it's almost all consulting that you don't get to work on what you want, just what comes in the door, so the fit of what kind of work you sometimes doesn't match the personality of all developers.

Pros

- very talented mentors, keen on transmitting knowledge - flexible working schedule: not peeping on your hours, more on your results - diversity of applications/projects

Cons

- very limited internal career growth perspectives, creating important turnover - often not at the edge of new software/technologies
