Pros

* Talented and committed colleagues across Operations, Compliance and Advisory. * Interesting business challenges and genuine opportunities to improve processes and systems.

Cons

The main challenge is the inconsistency of management practices. Expectations are often unclear, poorly defined, or communicated retrospectively. Employees can be encouraged to take ownership and operate autonomously, only to later be criticised for the very decisions they were trusted to make. Feedback can be highly inconsistent. In my case, I received a positive 90-day review highlighting autonomy, collaboration, and the foundations that had been built. Less than two weeks later, the narrative had completely changed without any meaningful opportunity to address concerns or understand what success actually looked like. Performance management appears reactive rather than structured and driven through a culture of fear. Development points and future growth opportunities can suddenly become performance issues, making it difficult to understand how work is being evaluated. There is also a tendency to send contradictory signals. For example, being asked to become closer to the reality of teams and stakeholders, while simultaneously being criticised for investing time with those same teams. Being told you are the expert and expected to define the approach, then later being criticised for not following expectations that were never articulated. The result is an environment where success can feel subjective and difficult to predict. Unfortunately, after speaking with current and former employees, my experience does not appear to be entirely isolated.

Thank you for taking the time to write something this thoughtful, especially after an experience that clearly left you frustrated. We are sorry it ended this way, and we want you to know your feedback is being read with real care, not defensiveness. It means a lot that you still recognized the people around you and the problems worth solving. That talent and that ambition are the heart of who we are, and protecting them is exactly why feedback like yours matters so much to us. We try hard to live by one principle: speak the truth, early, clearly, and consistently, in a way someone can actually act on. A positive 90-day review followed by a sudden reversal, with no space to respond, is the opposite of that, and if it happened that way, we own it without excuses. What we are committed to getting right: clear expectations from day one, honest checkpoints along the way, and what is said always matching what is written. No one should ever feel managed by fear here. We would sincerely welcome the chance to understand your story better, so it makes us better. Our People team is here whenever you are open to it. We wish you the very best in what comes next.
